Etisalat is one of the MENA region’s leading Telecom operators. With 143 million subscribers across 15 different countries in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, along with services ranging from broadband to mobile and its ability to provide its customers with innovative solutions, it is no doubt that Etisalat has managed to consolidate such a significant presence in the region and distinguish itself as one of the top operators.


In an effort to highlight how 5G will affect cybersecurity and the solutions undertaken to face cyber threats, Telecom Review spoke to Hongbeom Jeon, CTO and SEVP, KT who confirmed the need for higher levels of security with the advent of 5G.

Abdul Rahman Al Thehaiban, Senior Vice President of Technology, MEA and CEE region at Oracle delivered his projections for 2019 at the 12th Telecom Review Leaders’ Summit which was held at The Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut, Lebanon. MYCOM OSI President and CTO Mounir Ladki has predicted that operators will be able to become fully-fledged digital service providers during the second phase of 5G. According to Ladki, the initial rollout of 5G will resemble more of an evolution than a revolution. However, the availability of 5G-enabled devices to consumers will significantly accelerate 5G developments and when this occurs, that will lead to a revolution for telecommunication operators in their efforts to completely digitalize their operations.

Over 600 leaders from the global ICT industry were in attendance at the 11th edition of the Telecom Review Leaders’ Summit, which was held on December 10-11, 2018, at The Meydan Hotel, Dubai, UAE.
